G.B. Pant Zoo Nainital is located in Nainital one of the infamous hill stations of India for its beauty and panoramic views. It is the only high altitude zoo of Norther India. The zoo is well connected by rail and road. If you are coming by train you have deboarded at Kathgodam station and from there you can take a taxi , it will take 45 minutes maximum to reach this place. G.B. Pant Zoo Nainital was established in the year 1984 and opened for public in the year 1995 .The zoo spreads over an area of 11 acres , situated on the Sher ka Danda hill top. G.B.Pant Zoo Nainital is at the height of around 7050 feet from the sea level and is surrounded by the Shivalik and middle Himalayan mountain range.

G.B. Pant zoo Nainital can be visited from the bus stand Tallital which is around 2 kilometers away and situated 2150 meter from the sea level. The zoo is well connected by road. Here Nainital Zoo Authority provided shuttle bus services per person Rs.30/- to and fro to reach this zoo or you can get a share taxi from Mall road as private taxis are not allowed to this place. G.B.Pant zoo Nainital is closed on every Monday and all national holidays. The zoo opens from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm every day for the whole year. G.B. Pant zoo Nainital is named after the famous freedom fighter Pandit Gobind Ballabh Pant and one of the most well-maintained zoos in India. The zoo reserves admission rights per person Rs.50/- is charged for adult and Rs.20/- is charged per child each for a camera they charge Rs.20/- and for a professional camera it is Rs.200/- . The zoo does not take any entry fee for senior citizen and disabled people. The students get free entry to G.B.Pant zoo Nainital on Ozone Day, World Environment Day, Zoo Foundation Day and Wild Life Week.

G.B.Pant zoo Nainital has the widest collections of very rarest animals like Himalayan black bear,Himalayan Martin, Himalayan Pam Civet, Hill Patridge, Tibetian Wolf, Japanese Macaque & Japanese Serow. Besides these endangered species one can see Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard , Sambar, Goral , hill fox etc. One can see the various collections of Himalayan birds like Silver Golden Pheasant, Khalij Pheasant, Red Jungle Fowl, Steppe Eagle, Kalij Pheasant, Bornean Fire Back Pheasant and lots of other birds and animals.

G.B.Pant zoo Nainital is one of the most tourist attractions for the wild animal lovers. It will take 2-3 hours to visit the zoo completely.
